Job description
These individuals inspect and sort textiles, fabric, fur, and leather products. They are employed by:
- Textile products spinning mills
- Tanneries
- Fur dressing companies
- Manufacturers of clothing and fur and leather products
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature
- Nontoxic dust
Main tasks
- Examine clothing, textile, fabric, fur, and leather products to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Check and sort animal hides, furs, and leather according to size, condition, and weight.
- Check the size or fit of a garment by placing it on a form or measuring it.
- Repair minor defects on garments.
- Sort, match, and label finished products according to size, style, and quality.
- Maintain records of products checked.
- Pack products as required.
