Plastic Product Assembler
Job description
These individuals assemble, finish, and inspect plastic parts and products. They are employed by manufacturers of plastic products or by other plants.

Main tasks
Assemblers and Finishers
- Cut, trim, and adjust plastic parts.
- Assemble composite materials (e.g. fibreglass) to form parts.
- Apply resin mixes to metal or wooden moulds.
- Bond parts and assemblies.
- Grind or polish products and give them a final shape.
Controllers
- Inspect manufactured plastic parts for defects and verify compliance with specifications and standards.
- Apply seals or labels to approved components.
- Identify and return defective products.
- Prepare reports on the products verified.
- Modify products and perform minor repairs.
- Train staff.
