Help for Seasonal Workers
Seasonal workers could be entitled to training and financial assistance to help transition between the periods of work.
Eligibility
You could be eligible if you:
- have held seasonal work
- expect to return to the same seasonal job you held for the same employer or for another employer in the same activity sector
- do not have work income.
Training available
The following basic training courses are available to enhance your skills:
- Literacy
- Learning French
- General adult education
- Training in a socio-professional integration program
- Vocational training leading to an Attestation of Vocational Studies or a Diploma of Vocational Studies.
Financial assistance
If you take part in training, you may be eligible for financial assistance. This will depend on your situation, and will be determined in a meeting with an employment assistance officer.
You may also be entitled to reimbursement of certain expenses:
- child care expenses
- transportation expenses
- training expenses, including tuition
- accommodation costs, if you have to travel to attend the course.
