If your deceased close relative or friend did not purchase funeral arrangements prior to their death, you must make arrangements through a licensed vendor.

Tips before purchasing prearranged funeral services

First, check whether the deceased had entered into a contract during their lifetime. Otherwise, contact an authorized vendor to purchase funeral arrangements.

Funeral arrangement contracts

Contracts must contain a certain amount of information about the services expected, their price, and the terms of payment, amendment or cancellation of the contract.

Reimbursement of funeral expenses

When you pay the funeral expenses, the funeral home will give you a receipt. You may then be eligible for benefits.
