Reimbursement of Medical Transportation Expenses for Individuals Receiving Benefits Under a Social Assistance Program

You can get reimbursement for medical transportation expenses. For this, a written medical certificate may be required, as well as other information, such as written confirmation of a medical examination obtained from the facility's staff, mode of travel, mileage, etc.

For certain medical transportation, you must send the Application for Payment of Medical Transportation (SR-2589A) (PDF 287 Kb) form and the required supporting documents by delivering them to a Services Québec office or using your online file no later than the last day of the month following the month in which the trip was made. For example, if your request concerns a trip made on February 22, you will have until March 31 to submit your request.

You can be reimbursed for transportation expenses when you participate in therapeutic activities.
