What is the Social Solidarity Program?
Amount for 1 adult

Amount including a 66/72 adjustment
An adult who has been a social solidarity recipient for 66 months in the preceding 72 months is entitled to an additional amount.
Calculation including a 66/72 adjustment:
- Basic benefit: $1,035
- 66/72 adjustment: $365
- Total benefit: $1,400
Income may be earned without reducing the benefit amount. The allowable work income in the case of 1 adult is $200. The benefit may or may not include an additional amount.
Amount for the spouse of a student
Calculation including an adjustment:
- Basic benefit: $524
- Adjustment: $103
- Total benefit: $627
Amount including a 66/72 adjustment
The spouse of a student who has been a social solidarity recipient for 66 months in the preceding 72 months is entitled to an additional amount.
Calculation including a 66/72 adjustment:
- Basic benefit: $524
- 66/72 adjustment: $365
- Total benefit: $889
Income may be earned without reducing the benefit amount. The allowable work income in the case of the spouse of a student is $200. The benefit may or may not include an additional amount.
Amount for an independent adult undergoing social reintegration
Detail
An independent adult undergoing social reintegration is required to reside in a halfway house.
For the purposes of this provision, a halfway house means
- a community residential centre
- a community shelter
- a foster home

Income may be earned without reducing the benefit amount. The allowable work income in the case of an independent adult residing in a halfway house is $200.
Amount for an independent adult receiving addiction services
Detail
An independent adult may be required to stay in a centre that offers addiction services.

Income may be earned without reducing the benefit amount. The allowable work income in the case of an independent adult receiving addiction services is $200.
Amount for a minor sheltered with her dependent child
Detail
A minor may be sheltered with her dependent child in one of the following institutions:
- A rehabilitation centre
- A residential and long-term care centre (CHSLD)

- Adjustment: $118
- Total benefit: $1,665
Amount including a 66/72 adjustment
If both adults have been social solidarity recipients for 66 months in the preceding 72 months, they are entitled to an additional amount.
Calculation including a 66/72 adjustment:
- Basic benefit: $1,547
- 66/72 adjustment: $227
- Total benefit: $1,774
Income may be earned without reducing the benefit amount. The allowable work income in the case of 2 adults is $300. The benefit may or may not include an additional amount.
