Québec-Europe Research and Innovation Circle

The Québec-Europe Research and Innovation Circle (CRIQUE) is a professional, transdisciplinary and multi-sectoral network oriented toward international cooperation and the sharing of scientific and technical knowledge.

The CRIQUE is a collaborative research and innovation network that links relevant ecosystems in Québec and Europe. Based in Brussels, the CRIQUE brings together 24 permanent members from 14 countries.

Objectives

The network’s objectives are as follows:

  • create business opportunities by supporting players throughout the innovation chain (economic diplomacy);
  • form, maintain and leverage a strategic network of innovation players;
  • strengthen Québec’s European and international leadership in science, technology and innovation.

The CRIQUE is active in thematic areas that correspond to Europe’s main priorities: climate, energy and mobility; digital technology, industry and space; agri-food, natural resources, environment; and health.

As catalysts for interaction, CRIQUE members meet regularly at public events and/or private workshops to discuss potential collaborations, as well as developments in research and innovation policies and practices, including European framework programs.

The CRIQUE was created in 2021 and is supported by the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie and the Ministère de l’Économie, de l'Innovation et de l’Énergie. This unique scientific diplomacy initiative in the capital of Europe opens the door to international collaboration between the innovation ecosystems of Québec, North America and Europe, thanks to the impetus given to new dialogues with a diversity of players in the European Union.
