Step 3: Participate in carrier screening
To participate in carrier screening, you must complete two online forms:
- complete the online comprehension questionnaire first;
- then complete the form to request carrier screening.
Important: you must fill out one form completely in order to access the next one.
When you have finished filling out the online form, click on "Submit your request".
In three to five business days, you will receive by mail:
- a test kit;
- a consent form;
- a reply envelope.
12 to 16 weeks pregnant
If you are 12 to 16 weeks pregnant inclusively or if your partner is 12 to 16 weeks pregnant inclusively, your request will have to be dealt with quickly.
- Indicate that you are pregnant or that your partner is pregnant by checking the appropriate box on your online carrier screening request form. Make sure your partner has also submitted a request.
- Call 1 888 541-1007 (reception of the CIUSSS du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean laboratory). This way, your request will be dealt with more quickly.
- The laboratory will mail your results to you one to two weeks after receiving your sample.
