Procedure after the application is filed

A copy of the application is sent to the defendant (the person against whom the claim is filed). The defendant has 20 days to reply. Defendants who fail to reply lose by default.

Amendment of an application after filing

The information in the application can be amended after it is filed as long as this is done before the judgment is rendered.

Withdrawing a small claim

A plaintiff can discontinue a case after filing an application. The court office must be notified if a case is discontinued.
