Postponement and time needed to obtain a hearing

Postponement

A party who is unable to be present at a hearing on the date scheduled may ask the clerk to postpone the case. Contact the courthouse and they will explain how to make your request for postponement.

If this is the first request for a postponement and if it is made at least one month before the date of the hearing, the clerk will decide if it is admissible. In other cases, the request for a postponement will be submitted to the judge.

If the request is accept, the clerk willl advise the other party without delay.
