Signs indicating photo radars

Several types of signs are installed to inform road users approaching a photo radar.

Presence of a fixed or mobile photo radar

The following sign indicates the presence of a fixed or mobile photo radar nearby that detects speeding.

This sign indicates that a photo radar may be installed in the area.

Monitored road section

The following tab signs are installed under signs indicating the presence of a photo radar. They indicate the length of the road section monitored by a mobile photo radar.

This tab sign is installed under signs indicating the presence of a photo radar and indicates the end of a section monitored by a mobile photo radar.

These tab signs indicate the direction of a road section that may be monitored by a mobile photo radar. They are installed under signs indicating the presence of a photo radar.

Red light monitoring device

The following sign indicates the presence of a red light monitoring device nearby.

This sign indicates the presence of a red light monitoring device that also detects vehicle speed.

In a roadwork zone

These signs indicate the possible presence of a mobile photo radar in a roadwork zone.

When a roadwork zone is located on a site where a fixed photo radar is already operational, the green signs may remain in use during the work. 

In a school zone

The photo radar sign is installed between the signs indicating a school crosswalk and the beginning of a school zone. It informs users that there is a photo radar just before entering the school zone.
