Conditions for admission to full-time French courses for immigrants

Full-time French courses for immigrants are for you if you meet all of the following conditions:

  • Your place of birth is outside of Canada;
  • You are 16 or older;
  • You live in Québec.
General notice

If you are working or studying temporarily in Québec, you can register for full- or part-time French courses offered by the Québec government and receive financial assistance. Make sure you meet the requirements of your status. If you do not comply with these conditions, you could:

  • Lose your status;
  • Be refused entry into Québec or elsewhere in Canada

If you are temporarily studying in Québec, your registration in a program of study recognized by the Government of Canada is mandatory. This program of study must be your primary occupation. Once your registration in your main program is confirmed, you will be able to register for the Québec government's French courses. You must be available during the day, Monday through Friday.
