Full-time French courses allow you to learn French quickly and accelerate your integration in Québec.

They are oriented toward life in Québec: 

  • Labour market
  • Culture
  • Values
  • etc.

Course levels

Classes are available for beginner and intermediate levels.

An interview to assess your knowledge of French may be necessary:

  • Duration of 15 to 60 minutes  
  • Oral and sometimes written evaluation, depending on your knowledge of French 
  • In person, or by phone if you cannot be present

Free of charge

The French courses offered by the Gouvernement du Québec to immigrants are free. You do not have to pay any registration or tuition fees.

Some activities or cultural outings integrated into the French courses may include a small fee.

Schedule

Full-time courses are given in class, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. You must be available 25 to 30 hours a week.

The courses last between 8 and 12 weeks and start regularly throughout the year.

Location

A full-time course will be offered to you no matter where you live.

The courses are given in universities, CEGEPs, community organizations and education service centres. A few classes are given remotely to respond to the needs of certain clienteles. You must be in Québec to attend a remote class.

For full-time courses, the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration will offer you a training location according to:

  • where you live
  • availability of the premises
  • level of education

By accepting the proposed training location, you will have access to the financial assistance offered to take these courses.

COVID-19

The return to in-person classes for as many groups as possible has begun. Health measures have been put in place. If needed, students will be given protective equipment.
