Conditions for Admission

Full-time French courses for immigrants are available to you if you meet all of the following conditions:

  • Your place of birth is outside Canada
  • You are 16 or older
  • You live in Québec

If you are working or studying temporarily in Québec, you can register for full-time or part-time French courses offered by the Gouvernement du Québec and benefit from financial assistance. Make sure you meet the conditions of your status. If you do not comply with these conditions, you can:

  • lose your status
  • be refused entry into Québec or elsewhere in Canada.

If you are studying temporarily in Québec, you must be registered in a study program recognized by the Government of Canada. This study program should be your primary occupation. When your registration in your main program is confirmed, you can register for francization services in Québec. You must be available during the day, Monday to Friday.
