Job description

These individuals take orders and carry out table service of food and beverages for customers. They work in:

  • Restaurants
  • Snack bars
  • Dining rooms
  • Banquet halls

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

  • Take the orders and bring the drinks and meals requested.
  • Advise customers and make suggestions.
  • Serve customers at the tables by explaining the food and drinks menus.
  • Have the bill paid when the meal is over.
  • Respect the standards of hygiene and safety.

  • A beverage service certificate is usually required to serve alcoholic beverages.
