Job description

These individuals take orders and carry out table service of food and beverages for customers. They work in:

Restaurants
Snack bars
Dining rooms
Banquet halls
Coffees
Bars
Ships or trains
Catering services
Private institutions

Environment

Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

Take the orders and bring the drinks and meals requested.
Advise customers and make suggestions.
Serve customers at the tables by explaining the food and drinks menus.
Have the bill paid when the meal is over.
Respect the standards of hygiene and safety.

A beverage service certificate is usually required to serve alcoholic beverages.
