Job description
These individuals prepare, modify, and sign quotations for the construction and renovation of buildings. They are self-employed or work for:

Main tasks
- Consult with clients to identify the type and style of renovations or new construction.
- Design commercial, industrial, institutional, agricultural, or residential buildings.
- Plan the necessary materials, costs, and construction schedules.
- Prepare the design and preliminary plans.
- Prepare and supervise the execution of drawings, specifications, sketches, and models for contractors and trades personnel.
- Prepare tenders, participate in contract negotiations, and award construction contracts.
- Monitor construction site activities to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Carry out feasibility studies and financial analyses of construction projects.
- Coordinate the work of those involved in the construction or modification of a building during architectural work.
- Work with respect for the environment, the protection of property, the sustainability of heritage, and economic efficiency.
