- Prepare rock, mineral, or metal samples and determine, in collaboration with geologists, the best methods of analysis.
- Carry out chemical and physical tests in the laboratory.
- Implement measures to protect the environment.
- Monitor operations in oil or gas wells.
- Study and implement mine development, extraction methods, and mine drainage.
- Perform summary verification of the quality of analytical results.
