Architectural Technologists and Technicians
Job description
These individuals develop drawings, models, and specifications for construction or renovation projects. They oversee the completion of these projects. They are self-employed or work for architectural and construction firms or the government.
Environment

Main tasks
- Assist in the development of architectural designs.
- Take measurements of buildings (surveys).
- Develop drawings, scale and virtual models, and specifications.
- Estimate the quantity of materials required for projects.
- Analyze current building codes, municipal bylaws, and space and location requirements.
- Prepare contracts and tenders.
- Supervise other Draftspersons, Technologists, and Technicians as required.
- Supervise construction projects, as required.
Advancement and mobility
- There is mobility between these positions and related positions (Draftspersons, Civil Engineering Technologists and Technicians, Construction Estimators, etc.).
- Experience leads to supervisory positions.
