Architectural Technologists and Technicians
Job description
These individuals develop drawings, models, and specifications for construction or renovation projects. They oversee their completion. They are self-employed, work for architectural and construction firms or in the public service.
Environment

Main tasks
- Assist in the development of architectural designs.
- Take measurements of buildings (surveys).
- Develop drawings, scale and virtual models, and specifications.
- Estimate the quantity of materials required for projects.
- Analyze current building codes, municipal bylaws, and space and location requirements.
- Prepare contracts and tenders.
- Supervise other draftspersons, technologists, and technicians as required.
- Supervise construction projects, as required.
Advancement and mobility
- There is mobility between these positions and related positions (draftspersons, civil engineering technologists and technicians, construction estimators, etc.).
- Experience leads to supervisory positions.
