Bailiffs
Job description
These individuals provide court orders and documents. They seize or repossess property and evict tenants. They work in:
- Business, trade, and real estate
- Municipal, provincial, and federal governments
- Financial institutions
- Companies in the legal sector
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks
- Serve various documents (declarations, subpoenas, orders, etc.) and warrants (imprisonment, arrest, etc.).
- Locate and seize property, sell it, and distribute the proceeds according to court judgments.
- Make official statements concerning locations, situations, or events at the request of the court.
- Make official statements of facts concerning the condition of certain properties.
- Collect debts amicably.
- Obtain voluntary payment remittance agreements.
- Interview liable persons or other individuals who may be able to provide useful information.
Advancement and mobility
- Experience and training lead to supervisory positions.
