Insurance Brokers
Job description
These individuals sell insurance policies to individuals and companies. They collect information to determine needs and budget. They analyze and evaluate the financial situation of their clients. They advise them with regards to the various coverage options available. They provide information about the benefits, advantages, premiums, and other clauses of the contract. They fill out the contract and forms required to issue the insurance policy. The negotiate and enter into the insurance contract with insurance companies on behalf of their clients. They may be self-employed or work for brokerage firms.

Main tasks
- Ensure compliance with the insurance policy (appropriate forms, medical examinations, etc.).
- Set up insurance coverage.
- Determine the premiums to be paid and the terms of payment.
- Provide information on the various coverages offered by insurance companies.
- Respond to customer requests.
- Target potential clients and solicit them.
Advancement and mobility
- Experience leads to management positions.
- Additional training allows these individuals to be recognized as an Associate or Fellow of the Insurance Institute.
