Job description

These individuals sell various types of insurance (life, automobile, property, etc.) to individuals, businesses, and public institutions. This group includes supervisors.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

  • Establish insurance coverage for clients.
  • Calculate insurance premiums and determine payment terms.
  • Provide information on insurance plans and their features.
  • Ensure that policy requirements (appropriate forms, medical exams, etc.) are completed.
  • Respond to customer claims and requests.
  • Target potential clients and solicit them.

Advancement and mobility

  • Experience leads to management positions.
  • Additional training allows these individuals to be recognized as an Associate or Fellow of the Insurance Institute.
  • Successful completion of courses offered by the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors leads to various levels of professional qualification.
