Job description

These individuals supervise the use of equipment in recreational facilities. They rent or sell sports equipment. They collect tickets and entrance fees from clients. They work in:

  • Amusement parks
  • Fairs and carnivals
  • Exhibitions
  • Stadiums
  • Billiard rooms and bowling alleys
  • Golf courses and campgrounds
  • Ski centres

  • Equipment, machinery, tools
  • Vehicle or passenger compartment

Main tasks

Fairground Attraction Operators

  • Drive vehicles to move rides and games.
  • Set up various entertainment sites (rides, houses, fairground stands, etc.).
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections of amusement park equipment.
  • Operate rides and other attractions, monitor activities, and ensure the safety of participants.
  • Sell tickets, as required.

Amusement Park, Sports, and Recreation Attendants

  • Collect tickets and entrance fees.
  • Rent or sell sports equipment and accessories.
  • Schedule the use of recreational facilities (golf courses, tennis courts, bowling alleys, etc.).
  • Operate recreational equipment (lifts, resurfacer, snow guns, etc.).
  • Help people get on and off lifts and rides.
  • Lock and unlock safety belts and bars.
  • Check equipment for wear or damage.
  • Clean and maintain recreational facilities and playgrounds.
