Mineral and Metal Processing Supervisors
Job description
These individuals supervise and coordinate Machine Operators who process and manufacture metals and ores. They are employed by:
- Copper, lead, zinc, and precious metals refining plants
- Uranium and ore processing plants
- Cement manufacturing plants
- Clay, glass, and stone factories and foundries
- Steel mills
- Aluminum smelters
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature

- Fire, steam, hot surfaces
Main tasks
- Supervise and coordinate personnel who process and transform ores and metals (processing, mould making, stone forming, etc.).
- Establish work methods to meet deadlines and coordinate work with other sections.
- Order materials and supplies.
- Solve work-related problems and recommend measures to increase productivity.
- Manage and train staff.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
- Draft reports.
- Adjust machinery and equipment, as required.
