Terminating services and adjusting benefits

The liquidator or close family or friends must adjust the benefits the deceased was receiving and terminate the services they were using, such as cancelling permits and licences.

Adjust government benefits

Adjust benefits such as social assistance, alimony, family allowance, tax credit, parental insurance benefits and pension plan benefits.

Terminate a power of attorney, mandate or tutorship

Terminate a mandate of protection, power of attorney or tutorship to a child or person of full age.

Stop payments on a student loan or bursary

In the event of the death of a student receiving a loan or bursary, you must inform the relevant government department.

Permits, certificates, licences

Cancel a driver's licence, parking sticker, building authority licence and hunter's certificate.
