Alik Hakobyan was appointed Director of the Québec Government Office in Tel Aviv on September 18, 2023.

Prior to his appointment, he was Middle East, Egypt and Turkey Desk Officer at the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie. Mr. Hakobyan has also held professional positions in the Québec public service, in particular at the Secrétariat du Conseil du trésor and the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration, as well as the City of Laval.

Before entering public service, Mr. Hakobyan gained over 20 years of experience as a journalist, anchor and newsroom director. Over the course of his career, he has developed expertise in the analysis of international issues as well as skills in management and negotiation.

Alik Hakobyan holds a doctoral degree from Yerevan State University and a master’s degree in public administration with a specialization in international management from the École nationale d’administration publique du Québec. He also underwent training at the Institut de la diplomatie du Québec.
