Mental health help and support resources
Call Info-Social 811 to get help or information regarding your mental health or the mental health of a family member or friend.
Call the 911 emergency service, if you fear for your safety or the safety of a family member or friend, or to obtain immediate assistance.
Call the suicide prevention and help line: 1‑866‑APPELLE (277‑3553), if you are thinking about suicide or if you are worried about a loved one (to send text messages (SMS): 535353, to chat: suicide.ca ).
Find a crisis centre (in French only) near you to obtain free specialized crisis intervention services for you or a loved one.
To obtain care or services or to find a professional with whom you feel comfortable, contact one of the following resources:
- Info-Social 811
- A doctor or the Primary Care Access Point
- A local community services centres (CLSC)
- A mental health professional in a private practice (psychologist, psychotherapist, social worker, etc.)
