Home energy evaluation report

After the initial energy evaluation of your home, your Rénoclimat advisor will provide you with:

  • the energy evaluation report of your home;
  • the EnerGuide label for your home;
  • the homeowner information sheet.

The EnerGuide label and the homeowner information sheet will be updated after each energy evaluation.

Energy evaluation report

The evaluation report provides an energy diagnosis of your home and improvement recommendations.

The report covers all aspects related to a home's energy efficiency:

  • Insulation;
  • Airtightness;
  • Performance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems;
  • Occupants' energy consumption habits.

The evaluation report includes:

  • The measurement of your home's energy performance;
  • Personalized recommendations for improvement;
  • Heat loss estimates;
  • An estimate of greenhouse gas emissions from your home;
  • Health and safety information (humidity, radon, etc.);
  • Energy saving tips.

Take the time to read your evaluation report carefully.

The report indicates where and how to make improvements:

  • It details relevant energy efficiency retrofits.
  • It estimates potential energy gains based on the recommended work.
  • It provides an overview of your home's future energy performance.

Among the recommendations, some will be eligible for financial assistance from the Rénoclimat program or another grant program. Check the eligible retrofits and the associated financial assistance.

You can refer to the report to plan your retrofits or to discuss with a contractor, if necessary.

EnerGuide label

The EnerGuide label details a home's annual energy consumption in gigajoules.

The EnerGuide label allows you to:

  • compare your home's energy performance to that of a new house similar to yours;
  • know the energy sources used and the amounts consumed (electricity, natural gas, self-produced renewable energy, etc.);
  • understand the breakdown of your residential energy consumption (heating, cooling, ventilation, etc.);
  • examine your environmental impact with the greenhouse gas emissions from your home.

Learn more about the EnerGuide rating.

Homeowner information sheet

Your Rénoclimat advisor will update the homeowner information sheet after each energy evaluation (before and after retrofits).

In the homeowner information sheet, you will always find up-to-date information on:

  • your home's EnerGuide rating;
  • the breakdown of your energy consumption;
  • the greenhouse gas emissions from your home;
  • areas of heat loss;
  • insulation values (RSI) in the attic, walls, windows, etc.;
  • your home's airtightness rate;
  • the capacity and performance of your heating, cooling, ventilation, and water heating systems.
