Rénoclimat energy evaluation fees

The pre-retrofit energy evaluation costs $150 (plus taxes). This amount may be reimbursed when Rénoclimat financial assistance is granted for eligible work.

The first post-retrofit energy evaluation is offered free of charge.

The energy evaluation fee is billed by your Rénoclimat advisor during their visit to your home.

• The fee varies depending on the type of evaluation (pre-retrofit, post-retrofit, or subsequent evaluation).
• The fee is the same regardless of the size of the dwelling (single-family home, duplex, triplex, or multi-unit building).

* This category includes fees for services related to partner initiatives of Rénoclimat, such as the Canada Greener Homes Loan.

Energy evaluation fees must be paid within 30 days following the visit. If the evaluation fees are not paid, you will not receive your evaluation report and your participation in the program will be cancelled.

The participant must provide complete invoices and supporting documents to the advisor at the time of the post-retrofit evaluation visit in order to obtain financial assistance. Work for which documentation has not been provided within two weeks following the post-retrofit evaluation will not be considered in the calculation of financial assistance. File update fees may be charged by the service organization for modifying the financial assistance application to include documentation received late.

A $25 cancellation fee applies if you cancel an appointment less than 24 hours in advance. 

A $75 travel fee applies if the energy evaluation of your home cannot be conducted as scheduled:

• Your home is deemed ineligible on-site;
• You are not present at the scheduled date and time.

If you meet all program conditions, the cost of the first energy evaluation will be reimbursed when Rénoclimat financial assistance is granted.

After this $150 reimbursement, the first energy evaluation will have cost you only $22.46 (i.e., the amount of taxes).

Additionally, the first post-retrofit energy evaluation is offered free of charge.

Therefore, you will receive pre-retrofit and post-retrofit energy evaluation services and personalized advice for less than the actual value of the services provided.
