How to schedule an appointment for an energy evaluation

You can schedule an appointment for a Rénoclimat energy evaluation using the online request form or by phone.

Reminder! Your home's first energy evaluation must take place before you start your retrofits for you to be eligible for Rénoclimat financial assistance.

Appointment request

To get an energy evaluation for your home, fill out the online request form or contact the Rénoclimat program's customer service department.

Energy evaluation request form (in French only)

In the form, please specify whether you are requesting a pre-retrofit or post-retrofit energy evaluation.

You do not need to attach any documents or supporting materials to this form.

Requesting an appointment by phone

If you cannot use the online form, contact the Rénoclimat program's customer service department to schedule an appointment.

Appointment confirmation

After submitting your request, you will receive an email confirming your enrollment in the Rénoclimat program. It takes about a week.

Then, the authorized service organization responsible for Rénoclimat evaluations in your region will contact you by phone to schedule your evaluation visit.

  • Appointments for energy evaluations are available from Monday to Saturday, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
  • During the call, the service organization will verify certain details about your home to ensure your eligibility for the Rénoclimat program.

You should receive this phone call within three weeks after submitting your request. If you do not receive this call, do not hesitate to contact the customer service department.

If the service organization tries to reach you twice by phone unsuccessfully and you do not follow up, your appointment request will be canceled.

Special scheduling delays in remote regions

If your home is located in a remote region that requires air travel or several hours of driving for a Rénoclimat energy advisor, the appointment scheduling delay may be longer than in other regions.

Appointments are often grouped and scheduled once per month.

Evaluation fees

Summary:

  • The pre-retrofit energy evaluation costs $150 plus taxes. This amount is reimbursable when Rénoclimat financial assistance is granted.
  • The first post-retrofit energy evaluation is free of charge.
  • Cancellation or travel fees may apply if the energy evaluation does not take place.

Documents to provide

You will need to present some documents to your Rénoclimat advisor during their visit.

Document to provide for a pre-retrofit energy evaluation

A proof of ownership (a copy of the property tax bill or the transfer duty document) will be required at the time of the first energy evaluation of your home. You must be the homeowner to participate in the program.

Documents to provide for a post-retrofit energy evaluation

All proof of completed retrofits (invoices, photos, manufacturer labels, etc.) must be presented to the Rénoclimat energy advisor during their visit.

Rénoclimat energy advisors

All Rénoclimat energy advisors work for organizations mandated by the Gouvernement du Québec to provide services under the Rénoclimat program.

They are the only professionals authorized to conduct the energy evaluation of your home under the Rénoclimat program.

If needed, verify the name and contact information of the organization authorized to offer Rénoclimat program services in your region.
