Job description
These individuals collect overdue accounts and NSF cheques. They seek out debtors to agree with them on payment terms. They work for:
- Collection agencies
- Public utility companies
- Department stores
- Loan companies
- Banks
- Financial services
- Credit unions
- Government licencing services
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature
- Climatic conditions
Main tasks
- Find the debtor and advise them of late payments and overdue accounts.
- Resolve collection problems by making arrangements with the debtor.
- Recommend new initiatives or suspension of service delivery if payment is not made.
- Communicate with the debtor’s family and friends for information, as required.
- Answer mail, draft reports, and maintain collection records and files.
