Job description

These individuals manage the activities of a residential facility or one of its services. They work in:

  • Hotels
  • Motels
  • Resorts
  • Student residences
  • B&Bs, inns, and outfitters

Main tasks

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures.
  • Prepare budgets and analyze revenues and expenditures.
  • Participate in the development of awards and promotional strategies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers when purchasing goods and supplies.
  • Discuss with clients the use of the facilities for various events and activities.
  • Recruit, supervise, and train staff and set up work schedules.
  • Respond to customer complaints.
  • Coordinate the different services of the establishment.
  • Ensure optimal use of all facilities and maximize profitability.
  • Represent the institution when dealing with industry associations, business communities, government bodies, and clients.
