Job description

These individuals are professional managers and work in all sectors of economic activity. Their role is to plan, direct, and advise within a management framework. In particular, they work in:

  • Governance
  • Management

  • Financial planning
  • Project management
  • Public administration

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

  • Organize work, establish policies and procedures, and monitor operations.
  • Develop and maintain alliances and partnerships.
  • Recruit and manage human resources.
  • Establish budgets, allocate budgetary resources, and evaluate financial management.
  • Develop a vision and a strategy to achieve it (orientations, strategic plan, etc.).
  • Assess and manage risks and contingencies for the organization.
  • Generate significant changes within departments (continuous improvement, innovation, etc.).
  • Ensure the flow and protection of information internally and externally.
  • Establish and manage communication strategies.
  • Implement decisions of higher authorities.

Training and requirements

Formation

Numerous training and study programs lead to managerial or executive positions.

Also required

  • Membership in the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec (Quebec Order of Chartered Administrators).

Sometimes required

  • A graduate degree in a field related to administrative services may be required.
  • Several years of experience in the management of administrative services may be required.
