These individuals apply the laws and regulations pertaining to Employment Insurance and revenue. They also explain these laws and regulations to clients. They help clients submit Employment Insurance claims. They work for the federal and provincial governments.

Main tasks
Employment Insurance Officers
- Assess the eligibility of people applying for Employment Insurance benefits.
- Verify reasons for job loss and availability for work.
- Monitor the payment of benefits.
- Investigate the potential for abuse or fraud. Revenue Officers
- Check accounting records to determine income, exemptions, and duties payable by institutions.
- Ensure compliance with reporting regulations and detect fraud.
- Review the institutions’ accounting systems and internal control.
- Advise on reports and methods of valuation of excisable goods.
- Prepare files, assist in the search and seizure of documents, and assist in the preparation of charges for prosecution.
