Job description
These individuals sort, store, and ship parts and supplies. They work in:
- Manufacturing plants
- Warehouses

Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature
Main tasks
- Receive, sort, and store parts and supplies in a warehouse, tool or supply depot.
- Process requests and route items to the right location.
- Maintain the order book and inventory of available items.
- Place orders to replenish parts and supplies.
- Sell items.
- Advise customers or users on parts, supplies, and materials required.
Advancement and mobility
- Additional experience or training may lead to supervisory positions.
- Parts clerks may specialize in a particular category of parts (e.g. automobiles, heavy equipment, heating systems, etc.).
- Qualified Parts Attendants receive a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
