Job description

These individuals assist in the treatment of disabilities and injuries through recreation, movement, or art. This group includes specialized therapists, kinesiologists, and mechanotherapy specialists.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

  • Conduct fitness and movement tests and evaluations.
  • Review reports from other professionals.
  • Determine current and future level of functioning of patients.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans, activities (art, music, dance, etc.) and exercises based on health concerns.
  • Design and implement specialized therapeutic programs to maintain, rehabilitate, or improve body movement and function.
  • Draft reports on patient progress.
  • Evaluate the success of intervention plans with other health care professionals.
  • Educate individuals about health and injuries.
  • Conduct research as required.
