Job description

These individuals organize, direct, and evaluate police services. They ensure crime detection and prevention. This group includes officers ranked inspector and above.

Main tasks

  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the activities of a police service or a police service division.
  • Establish and implement police service policies and procedures.
  • Monitor police investigations and ensure that procedures are followed according to laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate the performance of subordinates and assign promotions and transfers.
  • Apply disciplinary measures as required.
