Main tasks
Animal Control Officers
- Respond to complaints about stray pets and livestock or wild animals on the loose.
- Issue warnings and fines to owners.
- Impound stray and dangerous animals.
By-law Enforcement Officers
- Enforce municipal and provincial regulations.
- Investigate complaints.
- Issue warnings and fines to offenders.
Commercial Transportation Inspectors
- Check commercial vehicles to ensure compliance with regulations.
Garbage Collection Inspectors
- Investigate complaints of violations of the garbage collection bylaw.
Liquor Licence Inspectors
- Inspect licenced establishments.
- Inform permit holders of laws and regulations.
- Report violations to provincial alcohol boards and agencies.
Parking Enforcement Officers
- Enforce parking regulations on streets, roads, and municipal and private property.
Taxi Inspectors
- Inspect taxi cars (mechanical reliability, cleanliness, meter accuracy, etc.).
- Investigate public complaints, issue referrals and write reports.
- Deliver evidence to municipal councils, taxi boards, and the court.
Zoning Inspectors
- Investigate properties for zoning violations
