Job description
These individuals sell various types of insurance (life, automobile, property, etc.) to individuals, businesses, and public institutions. This group includes supervisors.
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature
Main tasks
- Establish insurance coverage for clients.
- Calculate insurance premiums and determine payment terms.
- Provide information on insurance plans and their features.
- Ensure that policy requirements (appropriate forms, medical exams, etc.) are completed.
- Respond to customer claims and requests.
- Target potential clients and solicit them.
Advancement and mobility
- Experience leads to management positions.
- Additional training allows these individuals to be recognized as an Associate or Fellow of the Insurance Institute.
- Successful completion of courses offered by the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors leads to various levels of professional qualification.
