These individuals make breads, muffins, pies, pastries, cakes, and cookies. This group includes supervisors. These people work in:

Main tasks
- Prepare dough and glazes according to recipes or special customer orders.
- Bake the prepared products.
- Ice and decorate baked goods.
- Ensure that products meet current quality standards.
- Set the production schedule and determine the assortment and quantity of goods to produce.
- Purchase bakery and pastry supplies.
- Ensure the sale and marketing of products, as required.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff as required.
Advancement and mobility
- Qualified bakers obtain a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
