Job description
These individuals carry out maintenance and repairs on household appliances combining electrical, electronic, and mechanical circuits. They examine their various components to determine the cause of the malfunction or breakdown. They replace defective parts to restore the functionality of the appliances. They may be self-employed or work for companies specialized in manufacturing and maintaining household electrical appliances.

Main tasks
- Disassemble, repair, configure, reprogram, and reassemble household or commercial appliances (washers, dryers, dishwashers, etc.).
- Answer service calls.
- Estimate the cost of repairs or maintenance.
- Repair the gear and clutch systems of household appliances.
- Troubleshoot microprocessor-based, digitally controlled appliances.
- Read and interpret technical plans and manuals.
- Draft reports on the repairs carried out.
