Job description

These individuals repair and maintain recreational vehicles (snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, etc.). They customize them according to customer requests. They work for:

  • Dealers
  • Commercial repair and maintenance companies
  • Recreational vehicle retailers

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Climatic conditions
  • Odours
  • Noise

Main tasks

  • Meet with clients to assess needs and requests.
  • Go to the site of breakdowns, as required.
  • Locate damage or wear and tear on vehicles and their parts.
  • Diagnose and repair breakage.
  • Choose replacement parts in case of breakage.
  • Assemble vehicles and systems (engines, transmissions, etc.).
  • Exchange information with other Technicians.
  • Consult various references (manuals, databases, electronic documentation, etc.).

Advancement and mobility

  • Qualified Recreational Vehicle Technicians obtain a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Standards Examination.

Most training programs are offered in French only.
