Job description

These individuals supervise and coordinate food processing workers. They work in:

  • Fruit, vegetable, meat, and fish processing plants
  • Dairy manufacturing plants
  • Mills
  • Pastry shops
  • Breweries
  • Sugar refineries

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Odours
  • Noise

Main tasks

  • Supervise, coordinate, and plan the activities of food processing workers.
  • Establish work methods to meet deadlines and coordinate work with other sections.
  • Order equipment and supplies.
  • Resolve work-related problems and recommend measures to increase productivity.
  • Manage staff and ensure their training.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety standards.
  • Draft reports.
  • Identify, evaluate, and control production-related risks.
