Job description

These individuals assemble various wood products (e.g. doors) and ensure their quality. They work for wood product manufacturers.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Equipment, machinery, tools

Main tasks

Assemblers

  • Read orders and production diagrams.
  • Cut and sand wooden parts (joints, mouldings, etc.).
  • Assemble different wood products (window frames, doors, boxes, etc.).
  • Assemble parts for prefabricated house assembly lines (door panels, trusses, etc.).
  • Reinforce assembled products.
  • Install metal trims.
  • Participate in the maintenance of machines, as required.

Inspectors

  • Check wood products to ensure that they meet quality standards.
  • Report defective parts or finished products for repair.
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs.
  • Note information about the products that have been checked.
