After obtaining your Québec Selection Certificate

Once you obtain your Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ - Québec Selection Certificate), you must continue your immigration process with the Canadian government.

You must also take certain steps to help you integrate into Quebec society.

Submit a permanent residence application to the Government of Canada

After obtaining your Québec Selection Certificate, you must submit an application for permanent residence to the Government of Canada.

The Government of Canada is responsible for deciding whether to grant you permanent residence.

If necessary, you can renew your work permit with the federal government by submitting the CSQ in support of your application, while your application for permanent residence is being processed.

Fees and timeframes

Visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada site for information on the fees and timeframes for processing applications for permanent residence.

To immigrate to Québec, you and your accompanying family members must be selected by the Québec government and then admitted by the Canadian government.
