The Objectif Intégration information session allows you to familiarize yourself with Québec’s values and cultural and democratic norms and the world of work in Quebec. The session is intended for immigrants who have an intermediate knowledge of French.
Description of the Objectif Intégration Session
Free of charge
Participation in the session is free.
Location
The session is given by several partner organizations of the Gouvernement du Québec, throughout Québec.
Language
The session is offered in French only.
Session duration
The overall length of the session is 24 hours.
Contents of the session
The session covers:
- Democratic values and the Québec values expressed in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms
- Cultural norms in the workplace
- The legal framework in the workplace
The content of the session is divided into three sections:
- Section 1: Diversity and Adaptation in Québec
- Section 2: Five Keys to Better Understand Québec
- Section 3: The World of Work in Québec
Attestation
As of January 1, 2020, you must demonstrate your knowledge of democratic values and the Québec values expressed in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms if you apply to one of these programs:
- Regular Skilled Worker Program
- Québec Experience Program
- Permanent immigration pilot program for workers in food processing
- Permanent immigration pilot program for orderlies
- Permanent immigration pilot program for workers in the artificial intelligence, information technologies and visual effects sectors
- Entrepreneur Program
- Self-Employed Worker Program
- Investor Program
The members of your family accompanying you must also demonstrate their knowledge of Québec values.
Depending on your situation at the time of application for permanent selection, you may be able to participate in the Objectif Intégration session to demonstrate your knowledge of the values.
After participating in a full session of Objectif Intégration, you will receive an attestation of participation and learning about democratic values and the Québec values expressed in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
The attestation will be valid for a period of two years.
Conditions for Admission
To participate in the Objectif Intégration session, you must meet the following conditions.
Age
You must be 18 years of age or older.
Knowledge of French
You must have an intermediate knowledge of French to participate in the session.
Status for eligibility
You must meet one of the following conditions:
- You are a naturalized Canadian citizen.
- You are a permanent resident of Canada.
- You are a temporary resident and hold a permit issued for the purpose of eventual permanent residence or a permit from the Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration.
- You are a person authorized to submit an application for permanent residence in Canada.
- You are in Québec as a temporary worker for one or more consecutive periods of one year or more.
- You are a foreign student in Québec for a period of more than six months.
- You are a protected person in Canada (who has been granted refugee protection).
- You hold a tourist visa and you have received an invitation from the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (the Ministry) to apply for permanent selection.
If you are working or studying temporarily in Québec
Make sure you abide by the conditions of your status.
If you do not abide by these conditions, you may:
- Lose your status.
- Be refused subsequent entry into Québec or elsewhere in Canada.

How to Register
You can register for the Objectif Intégration session:
With an integration assistance agent (IAA) as part of the Accompagnement Québec integration service for immigrants.
At a partner organization of the Gouvernement du Québec that offers the training. Certain organizations offer a drop-in daycare during the session.
By using the Ministry’s online appointment scheduling service.

Financial Assistance
The Gouvernement du Québec offers financial assistance to encourage you to attend the Objectif Intégration session and to cover the attendance fees.
You can receive $205 in financial assistance to participate in the session. You must attend the entire session and meet the eligibility requirements.
This financial assistance is taxable and provided only once to each person.
You will receive payment by bank cheque. The Ministry will make the payment as quickly as possible.
Conditions for receiving financial assistance
You must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have attended the entire Objectif Intégration session.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN), Individual Tax Number (ITN) or Temporary Tax Number (TTN).
- Be in one of the following situations:
- You are a naturalized Canadian citizen.
- You are a resident or a permanent resident of Canada.
- You are a temporary resident and hold a permit issued for the purpose of eventual permanent residence or a permit from the Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration.
- You are a person authorized to submit an application for permanent residence in Canada.
- You are in Québec as a temporary worker for one or more consecutive periods of one year or more.
- You are a foreign student in Québec for a period of more than six months.
- You are a protected person in Canada (who has been granted refugee protection).
Financial assistance exclusions
You are not eligible to receive financial assistance for your participation in the Objectif Intégration session if you are in one of these situations:
- You have applied for asylum and are awaiting a decision from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB).
- You hold a tourist visa.
- You are no longer allowed to reside in Canada.
How to apply for financial assistance
To apply for financial assistance, you must:
- Access the online form to apply for aid to participate in the Objectif Intégration session

- Enter the information requested on the form.
- Attach the required document (proof of status).
- Click on the “Soumettre” button at the bottom of the page.
