How financial assistance is assessed

The assessment of financial assistance for part-time studies is based on your personal situation, that is:

  • your family situation (number of dependent children, if applicable)
  • your studies (level of studies, number of hours or credits)
  • the location of your educational institution

Allowable expenses

Allowable expenses are those deemed necessary for the pursuit of your studies.

  • School fees (application fees, registration fees, tuition fees, etc.): A fixed amount is awarded based on the number of course hours or credits.
  • Childcare expenses: You are entitled to childcare expenses for your children under the age of 12 while they are living with you. Expenses are also recognized for each child aged 12 to 17 who has a major functional disability (severe hearing impairment, severe visual impairment, organic or motor impairment).
  • Transportation expenses: An expense is recognized if you attend an educational institution in an outlying region.
