Job description
These individuals assemble metal rods or wire mesh to reinforce the concrete of various structures (buildings, bridges, columns, etc.). They work for:
- Institutional establishments (schools, libraries, office buildings, etc.)
- Businesses

Main tasks
- Read and interpret plans, maps, and drawings.
- Cut, bend, tie, weld, and install reinforcing steel used in construction.
- Fabricate and install reinforcement parts and prefabricated elements.
- Install mechanical joints, anchors, and studs.
Advancement and mobility
- Qualified Reinforcing Steel Erectors obtain a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
- Experience leads to senior positions.
