Job description
These individuals make, erect, and assemble iron and steel components used in the construction of various structures (buildings, bridges, silos, etc.). They are employed by:
- Institutional establishments (schools, libraries, office buildings, etc.)
- Businesses
- Civil engineering firms
- Road services

Main tasks
- Read and interpret assembly drawings.
- Make, bolt, weld, rig, and assemble structural components (beams, columns, joists, etc.) and architectural elements (stairs, balconies, etc.).
- Inspect the final version of the mounted parts to ensure compliance with the initial plans.
Advancement and mobility
- Qualified Assemblers obtain a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
- Experience leads to senior positions.

Most training programs are offered in French only.
