Industrial Sewing Machine Operators
Job description
These individuals sew fabric, leather, fur, or synthetic materials to make or repair articles. They are employed by manufacturers of clothing, footwear, and other products (textiles, fur, etc.).

Main tasks
- Assemble parts and sections of clothing, fabrics, or other items into finished products.
- Perform symmetrical and parallel stitching operations on items and evaluate their quality.
- Attach fur strips to design a skin with the desired size and shape.
- Join skins together to form parts or sketches of garments.
- Sew leather sections and pieces to make leather goods (clothing, handbags, shoes, etc.).
- Execute finishing operations (fixing pockets, making buttonholes, creating hems, etc.).
- Examine and repair items.
- Fill out production reports.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on machines as required.
